The Sexies are a major undertaking, and we need your help to make it possible. Just follow these six simple steps to become a sex-positive journalism super hero!
(1) Donate We know these are hard times. Luckily, for us, a little goes a long way. We are run entirely on volunteer labor and are lucky to get many things donated, but some things just take money. Your donation will go to covering the bare-bones budget of the awards: the prizes, postage, web hosting and domain renewals, a modest awards ceremony. If our donations exceed our current budget (we can dream, can't we?), all extra funds will go to increase the cash awards given to the first-place winners.
Donate with credit card here or through Paypal (send to donations at ncsfreedom dot org). In either case, be sure to put "Sexies" or "Journalism Awards" in the comments field after the donation amount. (Also let us know if you want to stay anonymous as a supporter.)
We also have several corporate sponsorship levels. E-mail us if you want more details about having your business become a corporate sponsor.
(2) Submit articles, and get your favorite writers and well-read friends to do so too.
(3) Spread the word. Become a fan of the Sexies on Facebook. Stumble us through Stumble Upon. Digg us. Friend us on LiveJournal or Myspace. You get the idea. Also do the same for your favorite sex-positive writers/articles.
(4) Call out bad sex journalism when you see it in your local paper (or a national one!). Check out NCSF's guide to writing a good letter to the editor.
(5) Volunteer. Have you got a talent for fundraising? Spam-proofing web forms? Organizing an event? Designing award plaques? Something else we don't even know we need? Let us know!
